Bespoke Adventures

Over the years we have been lucky enough to travel all over the world to train, compete & gain huge knowledge about very special places. A few of our favourites which we can organise a more specialised holiday include

Kitesurf Yacht Safari approx dates; 24th feb – 4th march 2018

There is nothing like kitesurfing amongst the incredible green’s that the Carrib offers and the best to be had is by boat! The Catamaran is the ideal vehicle to kite, sleep & eat from.

A small group of islands bundled together, sit nicely on the NE Trade wind belt & boost incredible kitesurfing conditions with smooth winds, colours that change with the hour, warm friendly people and a true taste of the real Carribean. The ‘grenadines’ are a playground that just allow you to play for long hours in warm turquoise water. Our dedicated Yacht Kite Safari allows us to moor the Catamaran in unique kite surf locations and use the boat to eat, sleep, rest, repeat!!! An example of this Kite Yacht Safari is below which involves maximum kite surf time however more sailing is possible if you wanted.

Day 1- Fly from Barbados or St. Lucia direct to Union Island (approx 1600hrs) where the Catamaran is stocked ready & waiting for your kite adventure to begin. Small kite off the JT pro centre as sun goes down

Day 2 – Sail to Mayreau and kite at Salt Whistle Bay. Cross/ Onshore with flat areas & bump/jump. Incredible flat anchorage and a great island to hike around.

Day 3 – sail to Tobago Cays & kite around the inside reef. Moor off the turtle area and ensure we get to snorkel the outer reef. Evening sundown session a must! Incredible selection of stars to be seen

Day 4 – Sail for Day anchorage at Petit Tabac (island where the Pirates of the Carribean was filmed) Kite to Worlds end Reef & enjoy the waves around LW. Another snorkel where the reef drops to ocean some bigger fish to be seen.

Day 5 – Kite downwind to Palm Island – and land on Mopion ( a small sand spit just big enough to land a kite!) Evening anchorage – Petit Martinque

Day 6 – Downwinder -Kite from Palm Island – Frigate Island for flat water session. Then onto Sandy Island for evening kite & sunset session

Day 7 – Sail back to Union Island for return Flight home

NORWAY - Snow Kite

Mid March 2018 14th- 19th or 21st – 26th march 2018

The Trip: Perhaps the most easy kite sport to learn, needing only 5 knots of wind it is possible to fly the kite while being pulled along the snow. Kite skills , skiing or snowboarding skills all assist the learning curve.

Travel: Flights to either Oslo or Bergen, the snow kite trip to Norway is organised to run from Thursday – Sunday however there are options to stay longer. Train journey to Haugastol or Car rental – approx time is 4hours from either airport. Advantage of flying to Bergen is that the scenic view either by car or train is worth a trip on its own.

Accommodation: Haugastol where we have booked the Mountain room which sleeps 6 people. Bunk accommodation with a southerly view over the lake and included is breakfast, packed lunch & evening meal. The catering & feel of the Haugastol is phenomenal, run by a snow kite family cooking wholesome food & making us feel totally at home. This allows us to focus on the snow kiting & other activities we can do.

The SnowKiting:  The Haugastol is situated at the start of the Hardangervidda Plataue which is a vast national park & the highest platue in the Northern Hemisphere.  From the Haugastol the 10 minute drive to spot 1 at Orten or further along the plateau are 6 other spots that we use depending on wind & visibility. The area is vast, exposed & like Dartmoor on a very snowy day! There are options to learn on the lake where it is ideal to get the feeling of being pulled along on skis or a snowboard by the kite.

Other Activities:

Downhill skiing at Geilo / Cross Country Skiing & skating/  Dog Sledding on the Hardangervidda with the Geilo Husky/ Off piste Skiing/snowboarding / Summit Touring & Expedition Training  (Gaustatoppen) / WaterFall at Voringfossen which plunges 182mtrs down the Hardangervidda Plateau.
