Fresh back from the 10 day PKRA Course Race event in germany where 11 Races were help in variable conditions, Steph Bridge has for the second year running won the World Championships for PKRA Course racing.

Sponsored by Edge Watersports, North Kiteboarding and Xcel wetsuits, Steph is driving the ladies Racing to the next level and works closely with North kiteboarding to assist with board development that gives her the edge. With a competition background and the technical skill on the kite race board, Steph’s background in dinghy racing also help to keep her on the 1st place Podium position. The PKRA Course race series has taken place in Mexico, France, Portugal, Fuertaventura and Germany. Steph has secured 1st, 1st, 1st, 2nd and 2nd at the events over the 2008 season. Exciting times for this new discipline with technical advancements in boards: North kiteboarding now have their own production race board which will allow many people to be more cometitive on the race course. With Weymouth Olympics in 4 years time, the ISF are looking closely at kitesurf course racing– This is a great time to be involved in a sport that is constantly evolving.

Folow the story and keep up with the event schedule- next stop is on the BKSA tour which is held in poole over 12th&13th Sept. Steph is then travellin to France for the french Race championships in November where she will be working towards a totally a new board concept that is going to be something to watch out for!!! Over the winter Steph practices in the waves and keeps up the fitness on the mountain bike & in the Swimming pool. Steph will be working hard to secure a sponsor to assist with the 2009 schedule.
