WHO WE ARE
Edge is owned and run by Steph and Eric Bridge who have over 30 years of combined watersports experience behind them. In 2006 Steph won the BKSA ladies freestyle championship and in 2007 became the PKRA women's world course race champion. Recently Eric has qualified as a BKSA trainer, and is involved with developing the sport further in the UK and improving the quality of UK instructors.
Originally Steph and Eric set up in 1992 teaching sailing, windsurfing and powerboating on the river Exe. Operating as Spinnakers Sailing Centre their hands on approach to coaching watersports became their passion and the introduction of the kitesurf school and shop (EDGE) was a natural progression.
The tuition on offer at Edge is second to none and our schools are British Kitesurfing Association recognised for kitesurfing and powerkiting. RYA recognised for windsurfing and powerboating and we are also AALA inspected so we are licensed to run activities for young people. We have a hugely knowledgeable team who come from a wide range of backgrounds and can help guide you through any watersport. We pride ourselves on welcoming everyone with a friendly non elitist attitude and giving the best advice we can to ensure you get the best tuition and the best, most suitable products .
Over the years a fantastic watersports community has built up locally and we love being involved with everyone, we enjoy hearing your views on the latest products and encourage product testing (see our review section). We also offer fantastic kitesurf and windsurf holidays at various times of the year, which help to bring us closer to our customers and gives them the opportunity to get on the water in some of the worlds best spots.
At Edge we aim to bring you the best products and often test what we stock, which allows us to have a unique insight into the equipment and helps us pick out exactly whats right for each individual. We stock products that cover all watersports and if we don't have the exact item you want we can always try and get it for you. We are open 7 days (Mon-Sat 09:00-17:30, Sun 10:00-16:00) there is plenty of parking, we are right next to the bus and rail stations and we are 8 miles from the M5.
