There is only 1 kite race like this and this pretty much describes it: “ The name “Ragnarok” stems from an incident in Norse mythology, describing the last battle between the good and evil Gods, where only the heroes of the battlefield survive. Red Bull Ragnarok imitates this myth in the respect that only a mere few snow-kite heroes will succeed. Endurance is paramount, and only the toughest riders will successfully complete the course”
For us, this was our 4th time to this inaugural ...Read more
Grenadines Kitesurf Safari
Olly & I boarded the 10hour flight to Grenada. ‘The Island of Spice’ Grenada is lush green with crystal waterfalls, golden beaches and incredibly friendly people.
We were picking up our 46ft Catamaran which we were sailing 40miles upwind to Union Island where our charter would begin. The Grenadines are a buster of small islands with few inhabitants but always a rum shop!
A brief intro to the yacht and a huge £800 shop to stock the boat for the ...Read more
It is not the start of a new year without the annual pilgrimage to the cape verde Islands. The journey really begins when we get the 4 x 4 trucks & head to the water the day we land. Excited to be in the warmth & feel the NE trades blowing across the dusty land. This is BoaVista & the party is about to begin.
Each morning there is a stretch/ yoga/ swimming session off the beach which really kicks the day off. Lunch is packed, trucks are loaded & we head to the dirt tracks ...Read more

We were contacted by Channel 4 to see if we would be able to introduce ‘Guy Martin’ to ‘Hydrofoiling’. This would be part of his series on “Speed’ & since we have a wealth of knowledge on foiling & coaching, Edgewatersports was the chosen venue to work with Team Bridge. Similar to what is seen on the America’s Cup boats now, this is a skill that involves balancing above the water on a set of wings that work in a way similar to aeroplane wings.
Guy is trying to beat ...Read more

The 2 different groups joining us on the annual pilgrimage to the Cape Verdi Islands enjoyed the same steady daily trade winds of 16-20knots with a 5 degree rise in temperature caused by 2016 being an El Nino year, heading anywhere south in January is always a massive bonus but to have enjoyed 26 degrees air temps and water temperature not a lot different was a real treat.
A huge bonus to the group on the first week, Jeremy Wait reminded us all of why kitesurfing is such an incredible sport ...Read more
Incredible what a difference a year makes. 2016 boa was 5 degrees warmer, blue skies and the normal trade wind pattern 15_20knots. However development is happening and we now see other kites, and more people on tours, bars opening up and a feeling of change. For sure the Island is still poor and lack of running water, electricity and decent hygiene an issue. We hope that the small amount of money spend in the bars and restaurants helps.
To have experienced boavista over the last 8 ...Read more
