HAPPY 2012
Between Xmas & New year we have been travelling east of Cape Town along the ‘garden Route’ –finding superb kite spots & each night camping in another new & exciting place. We have found more river mouth’s & sick flat water resembling a more clean bottom chanel for team Bridge to destroy! .

Team Bridge arrived in CT & Oliver was quick to get out to join the Thursday evening race session off Big Bay! Trade wind switch off & this place is pretty relaxing – onshore sea breezes & warmer water temperatures have been the norm. We thought the best way to get the ‘fire in the belly’ was to climb the quickest, but steepest,gully to table mountain. REDBULL BATTLE OF TRAFALGAR
We travelled to Canos De Mecca for the Red Bull battle of Traffalgar race & freestyle event. I understood it that Tom was going to be 1 of the choosen 6 representing GB for freestyle & I was just doing the downwind race. Turns out I was also having to compete today for freestyle heats! yesterday was cool - we had a huge startline across the wind on port tack then upwind a bit & downwind back to the beach. Wise Up In the Duck Pond
Over the last 3 weeks there has been at least 3 major kite incidents in the duck pond and I am sure plenty of minor ones. An ambulance was called on two occasions with the third incident the most dangerous the rider narrowly avoiding serious injury, he was still hurt bad enough to be unable to work for a week. As for the other incidents one involved someone being knocked unconcious whilst the other involved someone who dislocated and broke their leg/ankle. It is not hard to see why ...Read more

Duck Pond Seasonal Restrictions
For those that don't allready know and especially those that are new to watersports on the Exe Estuary there is a voluntary aggreement to restrict watersports in the duck pond from October till end of December. This is because the Estuary is a very important site for migrating birds, most importantly the Brent geese that feed on eel grass in certain parts of the duck pond.

Steph Takes 3rd Place at Mauritius One Eye Pro
Steph has just secured 3rd place in the KSP one eye pro. In conditions ranging from just fairly frightening to massive she convincingly proved she is the amazing allround kitesufer we know she is. Turning up at the event site just 1 day before the event started and having to learn how the spot works in competition was a real challenge.

With strong winds predicted for the Sunday and high tide in the pond in the morning it was looking like a perfect day for us to show off all our 2012 new toys from North.
