Intermediate Kitesurfing Lessons

Kitesurfing is a fantastic sport which allows you to progress beyond beginner levels at an incredible rate. If you have done your beginner lessons and are starting to ride upwind then you can continue lessons with Edge to keep your learning rate as high as possible. Whether you want to learn to ride up wind better, try your first jumps or even give riding a surfboard or raceboard a go, we can tailor the lesson to suit your aims.

Our Kitesurfing team are all fully qualified BKSA instructors and are amongst some of the best riders in the country and even the world with EDGE owner Steph Bridge now crowned World champion of kitesurf racing and a former national freestyle champion. Eric meanwhile is a BKSA trainer who is heavily involved with the training of many kite instructors here in the UK. Also on the team is 2010 British Pro freestyle champion Ned Taylor who is capable of teaching the latest moves. All this means we offer you the highest quality tuition and the best advice.

This gives us a unique opportunity to stock only the kit that really rocks, most of which is tested by us before we buy it in so we know it really does live up to the hype. During your kitesurfing lessons with Edge you will have access to the latest kit and dedicated teaching equipment which will help you progress fast. After your tuition we will be able to advise you on what kit will be best suited to help continue your good progress.

The Exe estuary (see webcam) and seafront offer some of the best learning conditions in the world. We are able to use safety boats to transport you to the best and safest locations to learn. These are low lying sandbanks which provide shallow safe water with no obstacles or third parties. Water conditions are generally flat or small waves with shallow waist deep water all of which are perfect for learning. The winds as for all the UK are variable throughout the year however we are fortunate that there are very few wind directions that are impossible to teach on.

Edge Tuition Holidays

During the winter months Steph and Eric run a variety of edge holidays. Suitable for anyone who can ride upwind, these holidays head to places like Boa Vista, Egypt, Brazil and South Africa. During the holiday, not only will you meet and kite with the rest of the group, but you will have the opportunity to drop into various tuition sessions run by Steph and Eric during the week aswell ask hints and tips during the water time. Intermediate/Advanced 1:1 coaching - £50 per hour

Once you have done your lessons and are progressing onto intermediate/advanced level we can still offer tuition to aid your Progression. We can offer any lesson from toeside riding, jumps, rotations to racing and waveriding. You won't believe how a bit of 1:1 coaching can push you're learning and riding to a new level. All our instructors are top level riders including mulitple World Racing Champion Steph Bridge and 2010 UK Pro Freestyle Champion Ned Taylor and love coaching 1:1 at higher levels. It is essential to be really flexible with these lessons to make sure you get great conditions to progress.
